Photos taken on Roosevelt Avenue as part of a project on the neighborhood.
Meet Rivelino
Kodak Ultramax Color Negative Film
ISO 400
Canon F1
Meet Rivelino, He hands out fliers for a music store on Roosevelt avenue. And after taking a photo of something else he enthusiastically asked me to take his.
After taking his picture 2 cops came up to me, and harassed me claiming I had taken his picture to make a fake ID. I complied with their requests and while one of them was nice, one of them seemed to be on some sort of power trip, as when I let him know that he couldn’t take me in unless I had done something, He angrily said “Oh so you think you know your rights now” and claimed he could just for being in that neighborhood.
Eventually after they ran my ID through system I was let go to walk on my way. I wasn’t upset at the cops, it was their job and I understand that the fake ID problem is big in that neighborhood, I just didn’t enjoy their attitude from when the first second i was completely helpful and friendly.
Its a shame really because I didn’t get to find out more about Rivelino, as he was gone once it was over.

Seems kind of paranoid... why would you take a photo out in the open if you planned to make a fake id? wouldnt you go inside somewhere?

See I felt that too, along with the fact i was using a film camera to me seemed also as if I was doing that why would I do that. Even so i wasn't bothered by that, it was the fact one of the cops was so clearly trying to bait me into doing something so he could arrest me that bothered me.
